Holding Onto Hope: Isabella Morganthal (20)

This has always been one of my favorite words.
I would scribble it down on paper, using it to try out new letter art. Or I would buy notebooks and wall art that read that word. It was always just a pretty expression, a beautiful string of four letters. But there was also something special about them. I knew they were meant to always help me remember: Hope is my anchor.
Yet there are times now when I look at this word and I wonder how. I wonder why.
How can you have hope when everything is crashing around you?
Why should you hold onto hope when you don’t get what you prayed for?
I don’t understand. I don’t know how I can hold onto hope when things turn upside down.
I look around at a suffering world—a world where things most certainly aren’t as I think they should be—and I ask God why. Why so much pain?
My heart aches inside as I scroll through pictures of the destruction in Texas from the recent Hurricane Harvey. I feel heavy as I look through death tolls and areas of flooding. How can we have hope in this? I question.

I flip through the TV channels and watch as everyone talks anxiously about the hurricane getting ready to hit Florida. I know people who have to evacuate and might lose their homes. I watch the TV screen as people rush to the stores to get supplies and try desperately to prepare for a storm that they can’t control. Can they find hope here?
My faith feels so small when looking at these things. These storms I can’t stop from killing innocent lives and destroying homes. What’s Your plan here, God? I want to ask.
Maybe…maybe that’s it.

We want to know His whole plan because clearly things aren’t going according to ours and we need an explanation. If He would only tell us why, we believe we will then understand. But how? For: “’My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
His ways, His thoughts, His plans…they’re all so much higher than my own. He can see the whole, grand tapestry when I can only see a small, simple piece of it.
Okay, yes, He has a plan, but…
There’s always that “but” because we so desperately want an answer when faced with such unimaginable grief.
After all: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
One of the most commonly quoted verses in the Bible. God’s plans for us include good. They include hope. But how in all of this?

I still don’t understand. And then I look at Isaiah 43:2 and it tells me, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”
Quickly reading it, my first thought is, “Great, so God’s telling us that those bad things won’t come near us and we won’t have to deal with them, so…why are we?”
But no. I read it again.

That’s not what He’s saying at all.
He says…when you pass through the waters…when you walk through the fire.
What? Where is the hope in this passage? What hope can all of the victims of these massive hurricanes hold onto?
And that’s when I see it.

The hope—the promise—it’s right there. It’s right there, shining beautiful in the midst of the pain…
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
There it is.
I catch my breath as it hits me. Our hope is not that bad things will not happen. Our hope is not that we will be spared from the waters or the fire—all those things that threaten to break us inside. No.
Our hope is so much greater. Our hope is that even in the bad things happening around us, He is with us. Our hope is that He will never leave us. Our hope is that God has a good, good plan for our lives and, even when we don’t understand, nothing in this world can destroy that plan. This takes my breath away. The hope God is giving us has nothing to do with outside circumstances—things that change like the tides.
The hope God is giving to us is a steadfast hope. Some of the definitions or synonyms for steadfast are: firm and unwavering, reliable, constant, steady.
This hope does not change because our God, the author of our true hope and faith, does not change. (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 12:2) He is our Hope!
And that’s when we know.

Whatever comes our way, whatever struggle or pain lies ahead, we know we will be okay. We will come out unbroken because our God stands with us. He is working good in our story—even in the pain—and even if we don’t understand the purpose until heaven.
If you are a victim of Hurricane Harvey or Hurricane Irma, my heart aches for you. I can’t possibly understand what you’re going through, but I hope to encourage you by pointing you to the One who does understand. He understands every bit of your pain and looking at your pain, He weeps with you (John 11:33-35).
When you walk through the water or through the fire, take heart. He is with you. He will never let you go.
Hold onto your Hope, beloved.

*Florida, my prayers are with you tonight. God give you strength ♥

To the Christian Who is Always Strong, It’s Time to Admit You are Weak.

People send me letters and messages from all over the world, saying how strong I am and how I have inspired them to be strong too. Although I am flattered by their words, I don’t see it that way. If you only knew that every leap of faith I take has the gift of fear waiting at my door, or that the fight you see me never lose is running off of fumes, you would see that I am really…weak.

When you are a Christian and the world is really a war in disguise, I think we sometimes put this unbearable weight upon our shoulders thinking we have to keep lifting it in order to keep going. Like this boulder is the source of our energy, or the fuel that drives us. That boulder represents all the heart ache, and suffering we go through. As time goes on this weight seems to become heavier and heavier and soon, it will crush you.

My friend there is hope though do not worry! I have found the secret! Here it is….

Now before you leave and think to yourself This girl is utterly stupid;  let me explain. Life can really hard, God never promised it would be easy, so instead of putting all this garbage on yourself, give it to Jesus. I mean the man carried a cross for God’s sake! Jesus was crucified on a cross for you, so he could take away all your pain. Don’t let that be for nothing! Giving all your worries and cares to him is not easy though, trust me I would know. For someone who is used to doing everything on her own trusting that Jesus will take care of me is a struggle. But if you don’t trust him, you will slowly die, maybe not physically (although in some cases yes), but mentally you sure will.

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

So how can you give all your heavy, dirty, weight to Jesus? Why not try these tips:

  1. Find Scripture to encourage you, such as these verses here:

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Matthew 11: 28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

  1. Spend time with Jesus

I don’t know about you, but I can’t trust someone I do not know. What I have learned in the past is that getting to know Jesus makes me trust him a whole lot more; so read your bible, preferably the new testament, strengthen your prayer life, and serve.

  1. Recognize the things that you struggle with

Give those things to Jesus right when you see them. Take a deep breath, and ask Jesus to take all the pain from you, and let go….make sure to never latch back onto it.

  1. Find someone to encourage you

Encouragement is powerful, find someone who knows what you are going through, maybe someone that has gone through it in the past and overcome it. Ask them to pray over you and encourage you in this situation. You would be surprised how much it helps.

  1. Worship your King

Lastly, find how you worship. It could be through music, reading your Bible, prayer, whatever! Make that a priority in your life. For me its music,  when I am sitting there worshipping God the enemy has no power over me, Jesus has his arms wrapped tightly around me protecting me from everything this world tries to throw at me. I like to think of it as a spiritual force field.

It’s time for you to admit you are weak and need Jesus. Don’t let pride overtake your judgement, He is waiting to take away all your garbage. No fee required. So LET HIM. I hope this article has helped you in some way. You are not alone my friend! I understand what it is like to carry such burdens!

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Because Every Life Matters

ux53sgprahu-freestocks-orgBecause Every Life Matters

By: Isabella Morganthal (19)

Have you noticed lately how self-centered the world has become? All about me, me, me. We fight for things when we want them and we fight for our rights.

Maybe that’s why it’s not that big of a surprise that the focus behind those who are pro-choice is the woman’s right to choose. It’s all about her. Her body. Her choice.

But the lie behind that?

It’s not actually her body. And in all actuality, it’s not her choice either.

If each one of us has the right to live however we want and we have the right to live life, than this choice is actually the unborn child’s choice. It is the unborn child’s life. Life begins at conception, so therefore this baby is a living human being who deserves the same rights as you and I.

Yet the world has created lies to cover up their selfishness. In order to continue living for themselves and being saturated in the “me culture,” they have created lies such as: “It’s only mass. It’s not a baby,” “It doesn’t feel pain,” “It is your body and you can do whatever you want.”

But those are lies.

The reason why I’m pro-life is simple.

Because every life matters.

If a baby came out of the womb and their heart was not beating, would the doctors and nurses not do everything in their power to get that life-holding organ to beat again? So why is it okay for them to stop the beating of a child’s heart in the womb? Even in the womb, that baby’s heart is beating. So what makes stopping that heart any different than stopping the heart of a child outside of the womb?

If you believe that your life matters, or your parent’s life matters, or your best friend’s life matters, then you must also believe that all life matters. For we are all humans and we are all created in the image of God, for Him and by Him. If every life matters, then the life of the unborn child should be held in just as high a regard as you think of your own life or the life of the one closest to you. And if we believe that life matters, then we must believe it is precious and deserves to be protected.

How do you protect life? Even the life of the unborn child?

There are so many ways you can be pro-life today. Spread the word about abortion. Tell others the facts, the problem, and how they can help be a part of the solution. Let others know that abortion is not a choice. Abortion is murdering a life that is very much living and can very much feel pain.

Educate yourself. Learn more about the facts so that you can defend pro-life and explain the horrors of abortion.

Get involved with organizations working to fight abortion and spreading the word about pro-life! Some great ones are: Save the Storks (www.savethestorks.com), National Right to Life (www.nrlc.org), Abort73 (www.abort73.com), and Rock for Life (www.rockforlife.org).

Support pregnant moms! Let them know they don’t have to face this alone. Throw baby showers for single moms-to-be, give them support, get them connected to help. Be there for them. By doing so, you could save a life.

We must not remain silent while a whole generation of children is dying in front of us. Let’s rise up and be their voice and defend them. Because life deserves to be defended and protected.

Because every life matters.

When You Want To “Break Up” With Your Church

girl for church articleI’m going to be completely honest with you guys. I am not content in the church I am at, and I haven’t been for years. But I am still there, still doing the same things. Serving in child ministry, pretending to be happy, smiling at everyone around me. Too bad they don’t know the struggle it is to keep that smile on my face. I have been afraid to write this for many months because of the people who might be reading it. But God has put it on my heart to say this and I can’t keep it in anymore. I have talked to SO many people who are going through the same thing as I am right now. I feel like church’s all over the globe are separating and being attacked by the enemy. It’s because right now we are vulnerable, with all the things that are happening in the world we are all discussing our thoughts and beliefs. When someone in your church doesn’t believe the same as you do politically, spiritually, or physically you think “There is no way I can be a part of church who has people who think like this!” And you’re gone before anyone even knew that conversation took place. The enemy is attacking church’s…HARD. And honestly, we the people haven’t really done anything about it, besides add on to the problem.
So I guess that’s a reason I haven’t left my home church yet. I didn’t want to just leave because I wasn’t happy. I wanted a GOOD reason not to stay. And even if there were a few minor problems I would still stay. It would have to be something BIG to make me leave. Is that the right choice? I would ask myself this question over and over again. Because every time I would say this another issue for ME would appear. And soon…I was done. I was leaving and there was nobody that was going to change my mind. I had recently been going to another church’s Bible study and I was having the time of my life! I had never been happier! I was dead set on going there…until today. The message on Sunday was great, people where nice, so what had set me off?? It was during communion when I realized it. You may have noticed I said when another issue for ME, and this was another one of those issues. I wasn’t going to take it. Don’t get me wrong I am a saved Christian and strong follower of Jesus Christ. There was ABSOULOUTLEY no reason for me NOT to take the communion. You see I just didn’t want to take the communion, the reason being because THAT church was giving it. If it was ANY other church I would have taken it. Not from them though. How ridiculous is that!? I wouldn’t take the grape juice and bread from my own church!
After that I started thinking. Why am I so angry at my church? Is it because I’m serving too much in child ministry? I’m in there almost every week. Is it something in the leadership? Has someone done something to affect me recently? I settled on all three reasons. I was working too much in my child ministry because my church’s leadership wasn’t handling it well enough and they had wronged me because of it. There were other reasons as well I am not going to share on here, but pretty much resolve around the same thing. If you look at all of these pathetic reasons you will see that none of them are from God, but every time I walk into my church they hit me. This means that they can be from no one other the Satan himself. I used to LOVE being in child ministry, I would WANT to be in there every week. Me working in there so much has nothing to do with the leadership, but with people’s lives and busy schedules! So they have not “wronged” me because of this. I am the problem. Yes are there a few things that need to be fixed, probably but no church is perfect and the people inside of them can’t expect them to be perfect! Because we ourselves are nothing close to it. Most of the things I hate about my church are things I need to get over. Things I need to resist when the enemy try’s to trick me and play with my emotions. So this is the plan, for YOU and I. If you are going through the same thing…

1. Have someone pray for you right before you go.
This has helped me in so many ways. Prayer is a powerful weapon and can REALLY help you when you are going through something that you cannot fix on your own. It is a direct line to God. (Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.) And when the enemy is involved we almost ALWAYS cannot do it by ourselves.

2. Look at the things you are doing

Are you serving God? Pouring into somebody else? Encouraging others? Anything that pleases God is something you should be doing, and if you are having unpleasant thoughts about them then it’s time to look at your heart. Is the enemy in your head feeding you lies? It’s good to know when he is. (John 10:10 the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.)

3. Ask questions
If the leadership is doing something you don’t agree with, then ask questions. There may be a very good reason they had to do that, and you would never have known if you hadn’t of asked. (Matt. 21:22 And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.)

4. Talk to God about it
This one goes along with praying. If you do not talk to God about your situation you may never know why he has you in it, or why the things that are happening are happening. God is smart don’t take him for granted (Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning’s too deep for words.)

5. Serve God.
The last one on our list is to either continue to serve or to start. If your church is having problems they will need all the help can get! If you are having problems serving can make you realize the things that you are missing. (Matt. 20:28 Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”)

If you do all these things for a series of time, and you still feel like God is prompting you to leave your church, then it may be time. But I ask that you at least try. So many people just leave when things are starting to get hard in anything! Relationships, church’s, jobs. Don’t be that person. Try to work it out and I will do the same. You are not alone in this! Like I always say email me if you just want to talk or hang out maybe we could skype and eat ice cream;p Love you guys!

Don’t Abandon God

Written By: Kylie Jacobs

Right now I am going through a test. I know that I am going through this test because God is trying to see if I will abandon him or if I will stay faithful. God is taking me on a journey I cannot see and honestly…it’s scary. I look at the news and wonder what has our world come to? There is so much pain and suffering it brings me pain. I look at those people who are going through unspeakable things, wondering if they believe in God, and if they do, if they are going to abandon him now. The truth is the world hurts. Jesus says in John chapter 17 that we are not of this world that the pain we suffer daily is not what God intended for us. John 17:16 “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” Jesus came down to a world that he KNEW would make him go through excruciating pain, physically and mentally.  A world that he KNEW he didn’t belong to. Through all the pain and suffering he did not abandon us, so why should we abandon him? Because he’s the Messiah? So what it was easier for him to ignore temptation? No. That is not true but when Jesus came down from Heaven he was a man, a human being, just like you and I. He suffered, loved, cried, and most importantly he was brave enough to go through with the crucifixion. I can almost hear those solders voices scream at him, “If you’re the Messiah then just come down from there!” “PROVE you are who you say you are!” Well he certainly did didn’t he? When he rose again promising to come back and never abandon us.

I want to be able to tell Jesus the same thing. I will not abandon you Lord. I want to stop in the middle of the pain, and say “Jesus, I am faithful to you.” Because the enemy is what brings our pain, suffering is caused by our sin. So why are you blaming God? It has nothing to do with him. If anyone understands what you are going through it is Jesus. He was tempted for 40 days in the desert.

Matt. 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Jesus could have thrown in the towel right then and there. But he didn’t because he was faithful to God even through the pain, the hunger, and the temptation.

Every day I strive to be like Jesus. I know it is impossible to be a perfect being. That is not what I am saying. I am saying I want people to look at me and not see Kylie, I want people to look at me and see Jesus, through my everyday life, through the choices I make, through my character. So I will not abandon my God, my father, in the trial, in the test. I don’t know why I am being tested, I don’t know what will come out of it. All I know is that something IS going to happen. I will have to wait and see what that is. Have FAITH that it will be for the better. God has a plan for each and every one of you.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  You may not be able to see what that plan is right now, but he has the greatest intentions for you. Do not abandon God, do not let this world destroy what God is creating for you. Strive to be like Jesus, don’t give up right in the middle of the trial. If the enemy is tempting you tell him to be gone! He has no power over you. If you need prayer head on over to our prayer wall and submit a prayer request, we have a whole team of people praying for you. Love you Guys!;)

10 Characteristics of a Christ Centered Girl

10 charicteristics of a CCG girl

10 characteristics of a Christ centered girl…

Christ. Centered. Girl. When you hear that what do you think about? What does a Christ Centered Girl mean to you? Right now I’m sitting here drinking my tea wondering the same thing. In order to be Christ Centered do I have to pray all the time? Volunteer at my church every Sunday? Raise my hands in worship? All these things are great but….if I do all of them, does that mean I’m Christ Centered? What does it mean to actually be Christ Centered? I asked myself this question over and over until I thought about the women in the Bible. The ones who served God faithfully through it all. Those women were Christ Centered. Mary Magdalene, Ruth, Mary Jesus’ mother, Esther. All these women had Jesus at the center of their lives following him with all their hearts. If you go through the Bible and read their stories you will see just how much they cared about Jesus and pleasing him. Doing what’s right. Not falling away from Him, afraid to lose him because he was so special. This is a Christ Centered Girl. These things and many more. I have discovered what it is like to be Christ Centered, so I’m going to share with you 10 characteristics of a Christ Centered Girl.

1. Love…

A Christ Centered Girl is loving. She cares about all living things and knows they are loved by God. She doesn’t judge other people for their sins and goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels special.

You know the girl that nobody likes? That girl is just as loved by Jesus as any other. Your job as a CCG girl is to go up to her and be friends! Ask her how she is doing and if she needs any prayer!:) You never know you may find that you actually like her! By giving love to other people and showing them love you can inspire others to do the same.

How to Love like a CCG girl: Don’t be selfish, pray that Jesus will show you the love He has for everyone and ask Him to help you love like Him. Remember that people are beautifully and wonderfully made.

2. Spending time with God…

This could mean reading your Bible, praying, worshiping him, or even just sitting on your bed talking to Him!:) I talk to God all the time. You can’t have a relationship with someone without talking to Him right? Well it’s the same with God. If you have trouble focusing on reading your Bible, praying etc. then you can go to the library or a quiet park to be able to focus a little better! Going outside to talk to God is amazing. I like to look around at all the beautiful things He has created, knowing that I am more beautiful to him than those things.☺

How to spend more time with God: When you wake up in the morning have the first thing you do be reading your Bible or at least praying. I know with having to get up early to go to school that can be hard, but if you even just get up a little earlier maybe 10 min. you will get that time with God you need. Talking to Him throughout the day as well will also help.

3. Forgiveness…

When somebody hurts you or someone you love do you forgive them right away? Or do you hold a grudge and get bitter? I personally don’t have a problem forgiving people. Yet when the people I love get hurt by someone it’s a lot harder for me to forgive them. I always have to stop and think about how Jesus forgives me every day for my sins. I hurt him and the people he loves constantly and he still would die for me all over again if it came to that.

How to forgive: When it is hard to forgive the people who hurt you think back on what Jesus did for you. He was being crucified on a cross when he yelled “Father forgive them for they no not what they do!” Even though He was in horrible pain He forgave us. So we as Christians are called to do the same.

4. Kindness…

Kindness is one of the most important traits for someone to have. When you are kind people see that and are impacted by it. If I am having a bad day and one of my friends or a kind woman comes up and gives me a big hug with a smile on her face I suddenly feel all my stress and anxiety of that day go away! Kindness is one of the most beautiful traits!

5. Fearless…

A CCG girl isn’t afraid to show her faith and stand up for what is right. If you see someone hurting go to them. Show them who they are and what they can have! I know it’s scary, But that’s the point right? Being a Christian isn’t easy but it’s SO worth that 20 seconds of fear.

6. Accepting…

A CCG girl doesn’t care where her friends have come from or what they have done. A CCG girl accepts everyone no matter what. We all make mistakes, That’s what everyone does, but the people who are going up to those outcasts and accepting them are the ones who are truly noticeable, the people everyone else is asking themselves “Who is that?”

7. Obedient…

Obedience. That is something I struggle with. Yet you have to be obedient to God in order to follow Him and make a difference. The girls (and guys) who choose to obey God always ask themselves “Why did I ever question you?” God knows best and that is that. No one else can write a better story then him. For he is the one who created all of them.

8. Persistent…

You have to persist if you want a relationship with God. In order to be “Christ Centered” You need to read your Bible on a daily basis and talk to Him all the time! These things take a lot of persistence but if you keep them up they won’t feel like work!

9. Genuine…

Don’t be someone you’re not. God made you just the way you are for a reason. There is not one person in this world that could ever be like you. You are unique! So don’t be afraid to show that! Just because other people are doing something that you don’t like…doesn’t mean you have participate in it to be “cool”

10. World Changing…

Last but not least a CCG girl is world changing. She doesn’t care what the world says or thinks she stands up for what is right! Yet she is kind and loving in the process and isn’t afraid to take that leap of faith if it means following God and helping other people. You can do ANYTHING when God gives you the strength. All you have to do is ask and trust. “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13” If God is calling you to something or to help someone don’t be afraid to it. Be Genuine when talking to people and be persistent with them☺ Do not judge them for their sins but try and help them see the way.

These are just some of the things the Bible says a Christ Centered Girl is! If you think of anything else comment down below by clicking the leave a comment button! I hope you enjoyed this post and are there any of these character qualities you need to work on? ☺ If so ask the Holy Spirit to reveal them to you!

How To Fight The Enemy

fight the enemy.jpg

Recently I have been very spiritually attacked. I haven’t been writing a lot of articles because I have been uninspired to write anything. In the past the Lord had been speaking to me, telling me what to write for you readers. I had heard his words as my fingers hit the keys on the key board. I am sad to say that I had let the enemy’s lies get to me and honestly I believed them. You are not special. Why do you still write no one will ever take you seriously? No one loves you, and so on. Since I was letting these lies into my life I had let them start to change my personality and who I am as a person. I have been dealing with a certain situation involving a person I see quite often. I have let this situation start to change me because of the anger I have had towards God and them. I kept asking God why he wouldn’t fix it. Why he was letting me cry myself to sleep every night! I would spend time praying asking him for a sign. Begging him to show me what to do. I would get my answer every time, Kylie, trust me, and everything will be okay. Easier said than done! I am the kind of person that struggles with a lot of trust issues because of some things in my past so when he told me to trust him a huge ball of fear welled up in my chest. There would be some days my faith in God was strong…then the enemy would creep back in and make me doubt. What if this is a mistake. Am I just telling myself this is going to happen? There are so many reasons why I could say this isn’t a reality. Yet Gods words rung again in my ears. Kylie, trust me, and everything will be okay. Without realizing it I was actually letting lies back into my mind. Except this time they were my own that the enemy had made me believe. This battle between God and I went on for a very long time, going back and forth. Soon I just gave up and let the lies pour into me as I cried my eyes out day after day. Just last night I prayed to God asking him to bring me back. I gave the situation to him once and for all and I am waiting to see what will happen. I can’t say that I am still not afraid because I am, I can’t say that what I want to happen will happen, but I can say that I am DONE with the lies. I am DONE letting the enemy win! There is some reason he doesn’t want me to follow God, he has gone to extreme measures to keep me next to him. I don’t know what God is going to do but I know it’s going to be something great!

The reason why I told you that is so maybe you can recognize the lies the enemy tells you every day. Is there something happening in your life right now that is keeping you from following Gods plan for you? If so Im going to give you some tips on fight the enemy in your hardship.

  1. Spend time with God on a daily basis.

The enemy can’t tell you things if you’re not even around to hear them. When you spend time with God praying, reading your Bible, worshiping, ect. You give the enemy less power. God promises to protect you from him no matter what. John 10:10 the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. You also have the ability to hear God BETTER if you are closer to him.

  1. Put on the full armor of God.

Ephesians 6:11-17

Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

This is your weapon against the enemy. If you protect yourself with these things no harm shall come to you.

  1. Surround yourself with encouraging people

Trust me this step is important. If you have good Godly people around you lifting you up no one else can tell you lies about yourself. I know this was a big part of my problem. I had friends who would tell me things that weren’t true about the situation and this just added more doubt then I had before. Even if they didn’t know what was going on the enemy would use them to bring me down.

  1. Surround yourself with Godly things.

The movies you watch, music you listen to. All of these play a role as well. If you are bringing sin into your life that doesn’t help you become batter then guess where the enemy is going to sit. Right next to you. He feeds on sin so don’t feed the hand that bites you. Have you ever heard that saying? It’s a good one to put on your wall. Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

  1. Seek another Godly person’s opinion.

This could be your pastor, youth pastor, or a Godly woman who knows you well. They will be able to tell you if you are believing lies or not. Ask them there advice on hearing God better.

There you go! That is all the advice I have for you right now! I hope this has helped you in some way, I will be keeping you in prayers always. If you have any questions you can always email me at christcenteredteengirls@gmail.com
